Have fans ever encouraged you to continue writing when you didn't feel like it or have we ever sparked ideas for books? What have been your favorite fan interactions?

April Henry What's especially motivating to me is to hear from people who say they didn't like to read until they started reading my books.

A couple of weeks ago a teen told me someone had been living in the basement of their home undetected for a few weeks.

I really remember one girl who reached out to me and said my books were comforting to her. She had been through something so horrific I thought at first she might be making it up, but it was a true story.
