Any idea why the info at the end about the coins and the comb was included? It was interesting and I didn't feel it problematic or distracting but couldn't quite see how it tied in thematically.

Roxie I got the sense that it was meant to show how complicated "inheritance" is. In the same way that the Black Cake, which is passed down in the family, has ties to slavery and the sugar trade, these objects that were left behind also had a complicated history.
