Bookpro I hope that more people weigh in on your question. The ending rather spoiled it for me, I'm sorry to say. Thank you for posing the question.

Lynne Coyle I’m going to be honest…I never could figure out who was where in this book and who was Leo…the letter writer? The kindly neighbor? The true serial killer? This book was so confounding and a big disappointment after I waited almost 4 months to check it out of the library. I’m not a fan. I closed the book saying to myself…WTH? That;’s it?

Hardworking Librarian I took it that real Leo escaped from prison and got hold of the manuscript, changing the ending

Kathy James Wasn't Leo a Serial killer? and Hannah was supposed to out him for the FBI?
Kathy Bringardner I think it was an inside joke between her and the real Leo… he saved the day for her by arriving with the elevator in the book, but I suspect the real person did her a huge favor and she was publicly thanking him.
Nancy I had the same reaction! It seemed a weird way to end the book.
Sue Who attacked Whit’s mother?
