Rhea asked M.L. Rio:

Dear Ms Rio, Firstly, I want to thank you so much for writing my fav book (you probably get these messages all the time, but still). IWWV was on my mind constantly; the characters feel so real. My question is about the relationship between Oliver and Meredith/Oliver and James: Are Oliver‘s feelings for both of them the result of “feeling everything twice”? Have a lovely day!

M.L. Rio I'm so glad you enjoyed the book. Thanks for reading. I don't think this question has as concrete an answer as you're looking for. Feelings, especially between people who are deeply emotionally bonded by shared (traumatic) experience, are complicated and difficult to label and separate and categorize. This book is all about ambiguity, and that openness to varied and sometimes contradictory interpretations is definitely not everyone's cup of tea but it's what keeps literature (and Shakespeare in particular) interesting to me.
