Pale Horse, Pale Rider -- I think the best American short novel. I know that is saying a lot, but this novel is a brilliant and complex vision of the world, love, and fate. She said "I will try to tell you the truth, but the result will be fiction." And that is the essence of this novel and the act of writing. Looking forward to your thoughts?
