I did not realize that these books were a trilogy. I have read the 1st and was just starting the 3rd. Is it advised to read in order?

They may be called a trilogy but they really aren’t. They all take place at Auschwitz-Birkenau and while there are very brief encounters with one or two characters from previous books they do not really matter. They do not need to be read in order.

The second and third could be read in either order. Neither crosses the stories of the other.
