Janet Nelson Simple Luciana was a victim of domestic abuse from her now divorced husband which she quickly alludes to when she first visits Beth. The ending when Lucianna goes out to the patio to check on Niall and realizes he's still alive.. she flashes back to her husband yelling screaming hitting ...and"she felt his fists breaking her ribs.. as he also kicked her.'' She had a ptsd flashback looking into Niall 's eyes and smashed his head into the concrete killing him and killing memories of her husband.
As far as Amber she got off easy in court but lost all credibility with her PR clients. More importantly her husband couldn't forgive her for cheating, so she lost everything. Sitting in her ugly new reality she thinks of Beth who she is still jealous of and because she's vindictive she starts plotting in her mind another way to go after Beth who has kept the secret of Amber's son Franco.
At the end both unlikable characters, Niall and Amber get what they deserve.

Marygail Nelson I want to know why Luciano killed Niles? It said she saw his eyes looking at her as he lay on the floor and she banged his head three times killing him. I listen to the story so I probably have the spelling of the characters names wrong. I just finished reading the book and came to good reads so I can find the answer to my question. Was she just mad at all man? Did she not like the way NAILS treated Beth? Has she seen Niles with other women previously? Thank you for any help you can give
