One of the primary male characters is revealed to be a half-brother to Nina, the heroine of THE HUNTRESS. It's an easter-egg cameo, though, and has no impact on which order you should read the two books (which are both standalones).

From what I read in 'The Diamond Eye', there is a vague connection of one of the characters being a half brother to one of the characters in 'The Huntress'. I am yet to read 'The Huntress', so I guess I'll have more accurate information then.
If you are afraid that the story here is just a spinoff of 'the Huntress', don't be. This is an entirely different one, just still within WWII context.
