I have probably a silly question about Something to Hide but it's driving me a little crazy. At the very beginning Deborah is told they want her to work on a project but...the project is never specifically spelled out. Is it?? I've looked and looked. The next thing is she's at Orchid House to take portraits. What did I miss?

She's at Orchid House to do the project that she's offered in the beginning of the book. Her pictures of the girls will be part of a booklet that the Department for Education creates. At the same time, she will be taking portraits for her future book, which will be similar to the London book from the first scene she's in.

You were one of my favourite writers when I was in high school (a little over ten years ago). I'd like to reread books of yours i had read (from "a great deliverance" to "careless in red" ), make up the lost time with the following, and I wonder... have your books been studied by researchers in literature, sociology or others? Are there "Lynley Studies"? If so, do you have references for these publications?
