Goodreads asked S.E. Chandler:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

S.E. Chandler I remember driving over the Arkansas River on I-430 thinking about a story where couples stay married for 100 years or longer. My grandparents were about to celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary and I started to wonder, as we live longer, how do we get better at staying together and in love longer.
I talked about the idea of the story with a friend on a road trip, putting together some bones of a futuristic world where people lived a really long time and also stayed married for a century. The conversation drifted to Soylent Green and I put it away for a long time.
In a subsequent marriage, I started learning about techniques to build longevity in a relationship. On a hike in the North Carolina Arboretum, my 2nd wife and I started talking about it more. Ehra was originally Omeo, but I needed rising action, so I stuck her between worlds and started twisting the knives.
