Goodreads asked Kelly Ohlert:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Kelly Ohlert To remember that no advice works for everyone, you have to find what works best for you. Two things that have really helped me have been to find writing friends who have supported me through rejections, and been my cheerleaders through successes, as well as great help with critique reads and brainstorming. The second is to "write every day". Common advice, but don't take it literally. Know there are days where it isn't going to happen. The idea is to turn it into a habbit. For me, my writing vastly improved when I realized I could still be productive in any 15 minute gap I found in my day, and didn't need a dedicated hour or two in order to get things done.
