Is there any chance of getting a "MATURE ADULTS" rating slapped on this somewhere? I am not interested in reading sex scenes. Having no warning label feels like the equivalent of a juvenile "poop" joke. Plus, some people will be getting the audiobook version and listening to this with kids present. You may find that titillating, but it's honestly just rude AF.

It’s a fantasy romance book for adults. Are all books that contain sex supposed to come with some kind of explicit labeling? I haven’t noticed that in any other adult romance novels, nor complaints like this regarding books that feature heterosexual characters. This book is not marketed as YA or for middle grade readers, so it’s clearly not intended for children.

A lot of adult romances have sex scenes. The scenes in this book are well written and enhance the story of the relationship.

I honestly wouldn't listen to adult books on audio with kids present. That's the main issue here. Adult books will have adult content.

I agree it would be good to know if explicit sex scenes are included in a book. I wouldn't have picked this one up if I'd known. Loved the magic, loved the characters, and loved the romance but thought the explicit move by move sex scenes were out of step with the rest of the story and ruined it a bit for me.

If you found this in the YA section of the library, as you mentioned in the comments, I would strongly encourage you to speak to the librarian (if you haven’t already done so) to see what their guidelines are. I’ve seen nothing indicating this book was marketed as a Young Adult title, which are typically targeted toward ages 12-18. This is an age range with widely varying degrees of maturity, so vetting books for the correct section, and for the individual reader/listener, is pretty important.

So far I’ve been unable to find on goodreads how to know if a book is going to have sex scenes, they’re a bit weird to me

There's enough build-up to the explicit scenes for a listener to realize what's coming and turn the audiobook off. But if there's something you don't want to read or you don't want children to hear, then it's up to you to research content ahead of time.
