Kaikeyi is asexual and aromantic. Although the words "asexual" and "aromantic" aren't used in the book, there is a paragraph in which Kaikeyi describes having never felt sexual attraction, and another paragraph later on in which she describes having never desired a romantic relationship. The author tweeted in February 2022 confirming that Kaikeyi is aroace.

Kaikeyi's character is asexual in the book. However, that's not the main focus of the story, and this retelling is misleading when it deals with the rest of the epic. A lot of it is Hinduphobic.
