Haven't read this book yet but am intrigued by the premise. But why 1997? I thought escape rooms & extreme haunts became more common in the 2000s. According to a quick search, it looks like escape rooms as we know them today didn't emerge in the US until sometime between 2012 & 2014. So why set this in the 1990s? Is the Quigley House based on an actual place? I just like knowing. Thanks!
