Goodreads asked Cege Smith:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Cege Smith Send your internal editor packing, or else you'll never get anything written. Writing the first draft is actually my favorite part of the whole process because I just let my characters do whatever they want to do and watch the story unfold in front of me with no filters or judgment. If I allowed myself to judge my work before I got that first draft down on paper, I'd probably have never completed a story.
Write, write, and write some more until you can type "THE END". Then you can go back later and do the hard work of editing it for publication.
