How do you get inspired to write?

Vee R. Paxton For me, it usually starts with something I've seen or experienced, sometimes it is a strange dream. Sometimes a song sparks inspiration. But the why is also important. Why tell THIS story? What is it inside of me that needs to get out, needs to be expressed. What do I need to share? That last question never mattered to me until I began writing to publish. So now WHY matters and can provide additional inspiration once you know what it is you want to share.
