Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

E.K. Frances I was on a very muddy dog walk, being pelted by the rain when the idea came to me. I wanted a troubled protagonist, thrown into a brutal world through no fault of his own. Struggling to be good while everything possible pushes him to go dark. Alongside the injustices he faces, is the constant thread of how others are being treated in comparison. The Hybrid is the first in the series, but, if you manage to get to the end, you may have an idea of the direction it is going.
