When I wrote Terraform Earth, I had to kill my favorite character. I went into a horrible depression. I couldn't write for weeks. So, I wrote a romance novella to cheer myself up. It worked, and I was able to get back to the sci-fi when I was done. I self-published The Wedding Singer by Cherylyn Chester, just in case anyone else needed cheering up.
