April Henry A few. One woman on Facebook started claiming that I was her mother and that I had found her in the forest and adopted her. It was disturbing, honestly. This was right before the pandemic and I was scheduled to do an event near her home in a few months. Thy were going to provide security for me. But then the whole thing got cancelled due to Covid.

I also had a guy who asked me if my main character liked to run in Forest Park. I reminded him she was fictional, but he wouldn't stop asking and he was behaving very oddly. At the time, a serial killer was dumping bodies in Forest Park. It was so creepy the store's event coordinator insisted on walking me to my car. (But when the killer as arrested, it wasn't him.)

Probably a dozen people have suggested that they have a great idea for a book (or that it could be based on something that happened to them) and that I could write them and we could split the money. They don't realize that ideas are easy, and the work is all in the writing.

I did connect one person with a crazy childhood (her parent was a serial killer) with a true crime author who did tell her story.
