Michael J. Sullivan:
I have finished Riyria Revelations and Legends of the First Empire. Both great series. Also listened to them on graphic audio which really brought them to life. Will Riyria Chronicles and Rise and Fall trilogy be done as graphic audio books? Thanks
Michael J. Sullivan
With regards to Riyria Chronicles - YES! In fact, The Crown Tower just hit Graphic Audio's website (and I think it will be on Audible.com soon. Book #2 of that series is due out in August (IIRC). The last two to follow as soon as they can get produced.
As for The Rise and Fall...that's a bit trickier. When I sold the non-dramatic audio rights for that series, I received a VERY generous advance. For many of my contracts, I've "earned out" (the point when royalties exceed advance money) almost immediately, but these books will take much longer to reach that important milestone. While "technically" I can sell the dramatic audio rights at any time, I feel it would be "bad form" to put a potential competitor before the dramatic publisher has earned back their investment. I'll be keeping my eyes on it and assuming (a) the dramatic books do well and (b) the graphic audio producers wants the series -- which they have already expressed an interest in, then we'll move forward with that version.

Michael J. Sullivan:
Hey Michael, I absolutely loved your books and have gotten my friends/family to read them as well. I was wondering how you go about writing such strong female characters. Arista is probably my favorite female in any book I've read lately, and Thrace is pretty awesome herself. I recently finished writing my first book and any help would be appreciated, as I go through editing.

Not a question, just a statement - It is killing me that I have an ecopy of the book, a hard copy of the book, and I'm waiting for the audiobook version to become available! Can you sync that up next time? I stumbled on your work through "The Jester", and I've listened before reading each of the series since. Killing me!
