Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

October Grae My series "Helm's Curse" began as an idea in 2007. I lived on a small island off the coast of North Carolina. There was a tree stump in my yard, and I often sat there to read or write. I knew who the characters were, but I didn't know what story they were trying to tell me yet. Over the years, the story grew. I started writing Helm's Curse as a tv series. I worked with George Hellas who co-wrote some of the episodes. Together, we created the story that is now Book 1. In 2021, I decided to write it as a novel, just like I had originally planned before beginning the screenplays.
