I see that you are working on the third installment in the series (Hope it is going with a full momentum), so why wasn't The Providence of Fire published the week it was finished? Or anytime before the scheduled January,2015? I am asking this because, the suspense is digging at me a little bit. Oh, and the fantasy genre needs thrillers like your work, kudos to you!!

Hi Balaji -- it's a good question. I didn't realize, before I started on this series, just how much work goes into making a book, work by people who aren't the author. When I finish a draft, that's just the start of the process. My agent edits it. My editor edits it. The copyeditor(s) edit it. The art director and artist need to put together the cover. The publicists need put the great wheels of publicity in motion. The sales team needs to get out into bookstores and talk to the bookstore owners one by one. Then the bookstores need to buy the book. The major review outlets need time to review it, and even more crucially, the book bloggers need time to get to it and put something up on their blogs.
I appreciate your eagerness for the next book -- believe me! I'm in the middle of a few series myself at the moment, and wish they'd just get done faster. I think in the long run, though, you end up with a better book this way. That's my hope at least. Let me know what you think of Providence when it comes out!

One of the reason I love your books is your very broad vocabulary. Every novel has had a word or two where I am amazed to see the word in writing and the use of it was absolutely perfect. I've seen you ask on twitter "Does this word fit, etc..." So I'm asking two things I guess; is your vocabulary that robust from your educational background, dictionary look up, and twitter inquiries? second question next...
