What do think about a lower-level high school English class reading this?

Little I think that's a great idea. It's fast-paced and not a long read, so it's accessible to slower/weaker readers. If the students are engaged by the story and character, there are 5 more books in the series for them to continue reading. There's a lot of good fodder for classroom discussion, too! How the 1st person perspective works to create empathy. What it means to be "human." How we form our individual identities, and how naming our identities shapes us.
Scott Bordelon I wouldn't recommend it. There's not much literary analysis to be had here.
