A Goodreads user asked:

Ok, I just read the blurb. AND HOW THE HECK CAN YOU ALL BE READING THIS? Doesn't anyone realise that this is sex without consent. What the hell is romantic about that? He's forcing himself on her basically, just not physically (although I'm not sure that he doesn't do that, since I haven't, and don't plan on, reading the book). It's disgusting. This blurb offends me. Are y'all okay??? Why are you reading this?

Tara Rasool how do you read only the blurb of a book and then proceed to bash the book when you haven't even read it? are YOU okay?
⁽ ¨̮⁾⁽¨̮ ⁾*˚‧♡ titilola Okay, so let me get this straight. You didn't read the book and stated that you only read the blurb and then proceeded to come to a very concerning conclusion without reading the book. I promise you, she is very willing whenever they have sex lol. You should give the book a try; maybe you'll like it. In terms of how I'll be able to read the book, it's because the smut is great. Have a nice day. I hope I set you straight.
Khloe Walker You can't judge a book by reading just the blurb. The two main characters both go through significant trauma in their lives. Because of that trauma, the way they view themselves sexually dramatically changes. It is about two people learning that their desires and sexual interests aren't deranged or disgusting, everyone is different and that's okay. Referring to the book the way you did goes against everything the author was trying to say. The book has an amazing message if you actually read it and not judge it from a few lines on the back.
Nicole I'm confused how you say he's forcing himself onto her if you haven't read the book? Because I can assure you there's no forcing. I guess you're just one of the many who WILL judge a book by the (back) cover.
