The idea for THE GLASS ARROW came from a story I'd seen in the news several years ago about decreasing numbers of women in rural China. The story talked about people searching out girls in the community to bring them to areas that had smaller numbers. That's where the hunting expedition that finds Aya came from.

I just finished The Glass Arrow (it was really good) and I was wondering, I couldn't really get the answer to this but I think it is true, is Kyna Kiran's sister? I think it is implied that they are but I just want to know if I am just making this up because I really want Kiran and Aya to be together. Thanks!
