I must admit that at the beginning when I started to read to book was difficult for me to keep track to all the technical details but after awhile I got used with the terms and I've really enjoyed the entire book until the end. The Martian was by first science fiction book ever read and I'd like to see a second one. Have you thought to write a sequel or why not a pre-sequel of The Martian?

Hi Andy, I listened to your book, wonderfully read by R C Bray, and it reminded me of the Apollo 13 mission. I really liked the fact that all the science / maths was real too. I've been interested in space travel since the moon missions. I'm now 50. Do you think we’ll actually have a manned mission to Mars in my lifetime? And, will the first mission be a one-way journey? I loved the book. Really. My question is were you worried that the book would be a bit "too much" in terms of technical detail and such for the average person? I like that it isn't just log entries and there's a narrative because it breaks things up somewhat, but was the narrative added later to break things up? Or was it always part of the plan to have more characters and another POV?
