Are you as smart the main character in real life? And have you ever had the experience of someone challenging you over the accuracy the "science" in the book? I personally don't know one way or the other, but I image there would be someone out there who would take the time to check your facts. Great book either way!

Andy Weir No, I'm not as smart as Mark. He effortly does stuff in an hour that takes me weeks to research and figure out. I get lots of emails about scientific accuracy. There are a few places in the book that have mistakes, and some places where I sacrificed accuracy for dramatic purposes. I don't mind being told about them; I'm glad people enjoy the story enough to be that engaged.

Most folks just email me the science behind the mistakes and want to chat in general. They're cool But there's a subset of people who take a hostile and accusatory tone. Like they take inaccuracy personally and they're here to show me up. They're annoying.
