asked:
I haven't read any of the books mentioned in this book except "To Kill a Mockingbird" for school but I forgot all about it. Do you think I can still enjoy this book without knowing these books?

The book goes over the general plot of each book, so you understand what the characters are reflecting on, but it's not necessary to have read any of the books beforehand. I haven't read most of them, and still enjoyed the read. It also inspired me to read more again after being in a bit of a slump. Though it should be noted that there are a few spoilers given, if you plan to read the books eventually.

Yes, you can. It's a feel-good book, and it's about connections and pain and friends and family and loneliness....and books. You don't need to know the books. But maybe it will spur you to read some of them!
