Now that you have a writing contract, is it difficult to meet the deadlines? And, how do you push through writers block?

Hi Shaymond. Thanks for the question. There's no doubt that the deadlines are daunting. When I was writing the first book, I had no contract and I took years of on-and-off work. Producing something even longer in a matter of six or nine months is tough. On the flip-side, I'm writing full time now, so I really can't complain. People write as much as I do while holding down two jobs. I always think of that whenever I feel blocked; then I sit my ass in the seat and write.

How would you respond to criticism of gender roles within the Emperors Blades? Specifically that the men get to go off and do their training montages, becoming future heros. And Adare stays at home, minding the store, waiting to get married. (Despite maneuvering through a sticky political situation in less 'screen time')

Hi Brian, Today I've finished reading Chronicles of the Unhewn Thrown. Book Three has blown me away. It was excellent. As I'm infatuated with Pyrre I'm waiting impatiently for Skullsworn. I wanted to ask you whether you consider creating some short stories written from Annick, Talal or Huutsuu POV? I would really enjoy writing these.
