I honestly feel disturbed having read it. The heroine feels active pleasure torturing someone to death and killing people who have wronged her. A lot of the book is inner dialogue - most of it is hateful and full of pain (rightfully so, she had a hard life - but it seldom stops). The whole world and story is full of constant violence. I really wouldn't recommend to read it if you are concerned about your mental state.

This book has some heavy themes and scenes. There are a few scenes of torture and a lot of death. That being said, it balances out some with the main characters getting gleeful, bloody vengeance which was kind of cathartic.
