Goodreads asked Janet C. Smith:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Janet C. Smith 'Gritta and the Witches of Olavland' is a second edition of 'Krog the Prince Frog', and so it was just a matter of revising the content. Even so, it took a long time, going over each paragraph with a fine tooth comb - actually isn't a fine tooth comb for nits? Readers of Krog had commented that a few illustrations would have been useful, and so the new edition has an illustration per chapter, and a brand new cover, better reflecting the flavour of the story. Illustrations again took forever to choose, as one can never seem to find just the right one, and compromise is needed. But in the end I found what I was happy with at istock, and purchased a bundle of licenses at very reasonable cost.
