Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

C.M. Carleton My most recent--upcoming--book is THE FOURTH VOTE, and will be released by the end of 2014. I discovered the title first, quite by accident. This book happens to be the fourth in the series (not including a prequel). I was in a continuing legal education class in June 2013 at the Kentucky Bar Association's Annual Convention in Louisville. A justice of the Kentucky Supreme Court was the speaker, her topic a recent US Supreme Court case which reversed the Kentucky Supreme Court. She said that she ended up being happy not to be "the fourth vote" to reconsider the case at the state level, because the case went to the US Supreme Court and is now a very important case. I loved that phrase "the fourth vote"--and it stuck. The story actually came later.
