Those of us who have seen the movie and want to read the book.... Is the book better than the film? Does it live up,to the movie which I thoght was excellent.

I read the book first so I was a bit confused at first why the movie was so well received, as I of course liked the book better. Now that time has gone by I like them for their own strengths.
The book does have a much better ending.
My biggest pet peeve of the movie is that it doesn't include the song "Total Eclipse of the Heart" like in the book! That would have made it so much better in my opinion.(less)
