Do you consider Recluse to be more science fiction or fantasy? If fantasy, do you have any preference as to if you write science fiction or fantasy?

The world of Recluce is fantasy, but as logical and consistent as I've been able to make it. I don't have a personal preference for writing either SF or fantasy, although I wrote SF exclusively for the first twenty years of my career, and continue to write both, with more fantasy than SF in recent years.

I have noticed that, because of the order and chaos laws/balance, there isn't great technological advancement, more like a technological pendulum throughout the Recluce series; and the most "advanced" tech developed has been steam engines. Can we expect more on upcoming books? Like, internal combustion, aviation, etc.
