Simply the joy of expression, of creating. Even when writing something that isn't necessarily going to be published, for me, there is a sense of fulfillment in getting ideas onto paper. Human beings are creative by nature (sometimes, we need to adjust our definition of creative, however), so when we engage in creative activities, it activates our link to Source, the ultimate Creator.
