rachel, x Absolutely. I'm all for usually reading sequels out of order, but this one would not work. The world-building relies entirely on your prior knowledge. Even the character development and themes only pack as much punch because of your experience with the cast in A Spindle Splintered.
Casey Yes, I think so. Although you could read this and get something out of it, it relies heavily on things set up in the first one/repeat character/etc.
