This question contains spoilers…
(view spoiler)[In Knight's Shadow Falcio is remembering a conversation he had with King Paelis after the King had killed a wannabe assassin. During that conversation Paelis says he could have every Duke, Lord etc. and their families killed. But we never hear why that would have been a good or bad idea. What if Paelis had gone ahead and killed the entire aristocracy of Tristia. What would have happened? (hide spoiler)]

Killing off the Dukes would've ensured King Paelis could have ruled as he wanted to, enacting his reforms without obstacles. It would also, of course, have been an act of tyranny, and as such, would've resulted in the Greatcoats arresting him and removing him from power.

Hey - I really love your spellslinger series. Actually it's my current favourite book series and I reread the four books already within 2018. I am also super excited for the upcoming ones! Now I was wondering - do you know tabletop role-playing games (or pen-and-paper role-playing games) ? I feel like the entire spellslinger world would fit perfectly for this and would make great adventures!

I have read so many amazing, highly detailed, intricate character building novels that there are months out of every year I question ever finding a novel I can give an honest 4 or 5 star rating to. I've asked myself, "am I ruined for all books?" Then occasionally I come across such gems...like your Greatcoat novels... and I am satisfied.I thank you good sir, for providing what book lovers of my type need and fiend for
