Hey Ava, I was just wondering if these people that Laurel wrote letters to had made an impact on your life too? (Kurt Cobain, Amy Whinehouse, Judy Garland, etc.)

Ava Dellaira Yes, many of them did! A lot of the celebrities Laurel writes to were people I already knew and loved, and others I fell in love with in the course of researching writing the book. (I started listening to Nirvana when I was in 6th grade and Kurt's music was the perfect accompaniment for me in the new and daunting world of middle school/adolescence.)
