Goodreads asked Cynthia Terelst:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Cynthia Terelst I asked my readers for title suggestions. The suggestion, A Bird in the Hand, caught my interest. I built my story around that title. The phrase is used in the exchange:
Rosanna rested her hand on my arm. “You know that saying, a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush?”
I nodded.
“Well, one Ty is worth a thousand Mitchells.”
“Hell yeah. I’d have a man like Ty in my hands any day,” Nicki called out.
