What mystery in your own life could be a plot for a book?

R.A. Palmer My great great grandfather was of mixed heritage. He "appears " on a census in 1860 but nothing before that. Where did he really come from? Was he a runaway slave? Was he working with the Underground railroad? How did he meet his wife? He served in the Union Army in the Civil War and yet there is still no word on where he came from or who his parents were. If that is not a mystery, I don't know what is!
