How can there be "young" souls and "old" souls when presumably there is no linear time on the spiritual plane?
Nanci L. Danison
Hi Gerard,
Based on what I learned in the afterlife while there, I would say there are no "young" souls or "old" souls in terms of age. I witnessed Source creating all Light Beings (part of which incarnates as a soul) at the same time. Different Light Beings choose different times to incarnate. Or, they may never incarnate. So they have different levels of incarnation experience.
I suspect when people use those terms they are really referring to a perceived level of enlightenment observed in a specific person. For example, someone who appears to the observer to be very emotionally mature, or spiritual, or enlightened, might be called an "old soul." Unfortunately, these judgments are based on observed behavior while incarnated into a human and have no validity whatsoever in reality.

With thanks for the tremendous gift you have brought to the human race, I would like to ask: What, if anything, do we Light Beings owe to the many human bodies we have inhabited for our own educational purposes? Is it part of our function here to enlighten the human race, as well as to experience the feeling of living as if we actually were these highly limited animals?

Hi Nanci, Thanks again for your thoughtful answers. Your gentle expression of the afterlife experience you had is reassuring and gratefully received. It's good to know our universe has more life to come, and that its return to Source is not accelerating. I do have another question: what is your take on the current notion of the so-called general "ascension" of Earth and its inhabitants?
