Jay I'd say probably not, the world-building is intricate and much is explained in a very philosophical manner, there is also discussions of sex and a few (not very detailed for the most part) sex scenes.

Some books that I enjoyed which have similar themes (magic or dark academia) and may be less challenging for a young teen are as follows if your child or other young bookworms need alternative or further suggestions, though!

The Scapegracers by Hannah Abigail Clarke
When We Were Magic by Sarah Gailey
Before We Disappear by Shaun David Hutchinson
Blood Like Magic by Liselle Sambury (Ages 14+)
The Fascinators by Andrew Eliopulos (Ages 13+)
A Lesson in Vengeance by Victoria Lee (Ages 14+)
Ace of Spades by Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé (Ages 14+)
The Raven Cycle Series by Maggie Stiefvater (Ages 14+)

I know these are unsolicited recs, but hopefully they'll help someone out! The first five are very magic based (like The Atlas Six), although the magic systems and other themes vary. The last three are categorized as dark academia, another overlapping genre with The Atlas Six/i>. A Lesson In Vengeance and Ace of Spades are definitely dark academia but also they're definitely thrillers, too. The Raven Cycle is a blend of contemporary, fantasy and dark academia.
