In The People We Keep, How did Red Bank and Asbury Park find their way into your book? They are both close to my town and it was such a fun surprise. I absolutely adored this book, I am going to need extra caffeine today because I had to stay up to finish!

Oh! Thank you so much for your question, Juliann! I lived in Red Bank one summer in the late 90s (and attended Jersey Shore Bartending School!). It's such a charming area and I really loved living there. I got to go back a few times to do events with River Road Books (that's such a great bookstore!) and I was so happy to see how much had stayed the same over the years!

Hello, I just finished "The People We Keep" and enjoyed it very much. The title is what grabbed me at first. Did the title come before the story? Your book combined my interest in coming of age stories with music. The artist Jewel popped into my head a few times while I was reading it because I read where she lived out of a car. I'll be recommending this one to a lot of different people I know. Thanks!
