When I was little, my dad told me stories about his favorite Knight of the Round Table, Sir Ector de Maris, and introduced me to Howard Pyle's classic tales, so I've always loved the Middle Ages. I do have a series set in Tudor times and one from Gold Rush California, but I keep returning to my favorite medieval times.

Thinking about "Dangers Kiss", there was a passage where the dinner was being cooked up using(unintentialy) different torture devices as cooking tools. The tools that used, were they from your imagination or were such torture tools actually used by law enforcement back then to get confessions?
