How do you decide in what dimension the character would grow? Does it depends on the surrounding entirely like Jared did in some ways or is it the Character's resentments and likings? And What inspired you the most for Kai Mori's Character?

Penelope Douglas I think as the character is fleshed out, they present themselves more and more as you write the book. They talk to you and tell you what they need. Sometimes the character you start out writing becomes something completely different. A lot changes in the writing stage.

And Kai, I loved writing someone controlled--trying to be his best self--but that moment when he can't contain it anymore in the Pope was beautiful. It's great to see characters try to hold back what they are and end up surprising themselves.
