Will Boxxy eventually become more empathetic over time? maybe through a rank up his emotional evolution will progress to the point where he is able to develop empathy at least for his allies. There points in the series where he truly thanked someone so maybe he is capable of empathy. but severely lacks it.

A big theme throughout the series is that monsters are monsters. It's not just a psychological thing that makes them so heartless, but also biological. Brain chemicals and such. Monsters like Boxxy are physically incapable of experiencing empathy or love the way normal people do. They can, however, develop something approximating such emotions as time goes on.
So, to answer your question, Boxxy cannot be empathic. It could feel things that are kind of close, but at its core it is a complete sociopath by human standards.
