Alon is protecting his nation, but recognizes the complexity of the history that brought about the terrorism he fights.

Earlier novels were quite subtle about the Trump affect on the international scene, but he is obviously shaken, as does virtually any well informed person who treasures democracy, by the emergence of a tribal authoritarian segment of our nation, which Trump exploited.

The pervasiveness of the delusional, epistemically disabled, views regarding Trump and the election are evident in other comments. (less)
