Amanda Doblin I recommend Ordinary Grace by William Kent Krueger.
MATHIEU LONG I would recommend Where The Crawdads Sing. Outstanding as well!!
BookstagramETC I would suggest When The Stars Go Dark (Paula McLain), What Could Be Saved (Liese O'Halloran Schwarz), or The Unseen World (Liz Moore) and Little Fires Everywhere (Celeste Ng) as books with a similar feel/themes of family and redemption. For a tough girl protagonist, finding her way, I'd recommend The Language of Flowers (Vanessa Diffenbaugh).
Angela The protagonist from "Before We Were Yours" reminded me of Duchess, with her grit and desire to keep her family safe. I highly recommend it!
Robert Blumenthal Anything by Jane Harper would be good.
Betsy All the Ugly and Wonderful Things is similar with some tough stuff thrown in but I really enjoyed it.
Colleen I see someone already suggested this, but if you haven't already read All the Ugly and Wonderful Things, I highly recommend that. In my opinion, it was far better than this book.
Jane Boy Swallows Universe by Trent Dalton reminded me of similar characters and coming of age protagonists.
Jennifer The Searcher by Tana French. Perhaps “far from the tree” and there is a domestic thriller that I’m blanking in the name.
Kathleen Kelley Gilead series by Marilynne Robinson.
