In other words, for her, the Sun is God, and because of that, the natural world seems to her to be a responsive and ultimately meaningful place, if not always a kind one. The bull, with its blank, cruel eyes, represents a far more pessimistic (perhaps atheistic) view of the natural world, as a place that is indifferent to human suffering. That's my take, anyway!(less)
