The idea didn't come until I was plotting the third book, The Assassin's Curse. As I was working out why Christopher and friends would be sent to Paris, it struck me that many of the skills Master Benedict taught him would be the exact same skills that are useful in spycraft—and that it would be natural for the king to exploit this resource, as kings do!

Hi! I just finished "The Traitor's Blade" and am again amazed by your novels. I really loved the book and can't wait for the sixth one to come out in June. My parents do not speak much English though, as we live in Germany. I read the first three books in German to them and they enjoyed Christopher's adventures as well. But do you know if book 4 and 5 will also be translated to German? That'd be really awesome! :)
